TRAGIC: Woman mauled by pitbulls in Durban

DURBAN - A woman believed to be in her 50s was on her way home on foot when she was attacked by two dogs, believed to be pitbulls in Merebank, south of Durban.

PT Alarms K9 unit and armed response raced to the scene where the victim sustained severe bite wounds. Gadwal Road Neighbouhood watch was on scene.

It is alleged the dogs jumped over the property wall and attacked the victim. This is not the first incident where the dogs have bitten members of the community, according to PT Alarms.

The victim was stabilized on scene by PT Ambulance Service and rushed to a nearby local hospital for treatment.

The victim sustained bite wounds to her stomach, back and thigh.

PT Alarms also cited that residents in the area complained that the dogs are not well secured and are posing a threat to pedestrians.

DURBAN -  The eThekwini Municipality's Recreation and Parks Directorate, working together with the City's Emergency Services, are attending to multiple incidents across the city following strong winds that swept through eThekwini this afternoon and early evening, uprooting trees and disrupting traffic in several communities. JOHANNESBURG - Podcaster and activist Penuel "The Black Pen" Mlotshwa has made his vote known for the upcoming Local Government Elections.
