Heavy Traffic expected on last day of Easter long weekend

POLOKWANE - The Limpopo Department of Transport says today, the last day of the Easter long weekend, is expected to see busy to heavy traffic on roads leading to Polokwane and out of the province. 

The N1 from Makhado through Polokwane up to Pienaarsrivier, as well as the R101, R71, R81, R36, and R37, are likely to be congested, with slow-moving traffic anticipated from mid-morning into the evening. 

Law enforcement officers remain strategically deployed to manage traffic flow and curb violations, ensuring a safer journey for all road users.

For a safe and smooth journey, prioritize road safety by taking regular breaks every 2 hours or 200km, buckling up, not overloading passengers or goods, obeying speed limits, driving sober, and being mindful of pedestrians. 

Plan your trip, check traffic updates regularly, and allow extra time to account for unexpected delays.

DURBAN -  The eThekwini Municipality's Recreation and Parks Directorate, working together with the City's Emergency Services, are attending to multiple incidents across the city following strong winds that swept through eThekwini this afternoon and early evening, uprooting trees and disrupting traffic in several communities. No injuries have been reported at this stage. Since last night, 23 fallen trees had been reported across the city. JOHANNESBURG - Podcaster and activist Penuel "The Black Pen" Mlotshwa has made his vote known for the upcoming Local Government Elections. Mlotshwa, who's no stranger to sharing his political views online, went public about his preferred party for the elections taking place in November. The Association says if a meeting with Roads and Transport MEC, Kedibone Diale-Tlabela isn't fruitful and its memorandum of demands aren't met, consequently this force them to disrupt services for seven days.
